Hi, I'm Mike Thorne,

I've been playing, recording and mixing music for over 23 years, including the last 12 years with a focus on mastering audio.

I'm fortunate to work out of my studio, Rimshot, in the UK.

I've worked with hundreds of bands from dozens of labels including The Brand New Heavies, Matt Berry, Sean Lennon, Ian Siegal, KT Tunstall, Procol Harum, The Big Town Playboys, Sylvia Massey, Big Joe Louis, New Street Adventure, Paul Lamb and the King Snakes, IMT Smile, André Heller, Fay Hallam, The Bluesonics, Lazy Lester, Rodreguez, Chris Corcoran, Mike Vernon, Magnus Carlson, Matt Schofield, Sony Records, Universal Music Group, PIAS, Acid Jazz Records, BBC, Sky, Audio Network, Reliable Source Music and many more.

Recent film work has included recording and mixing the 5.1 orchestral score for Henry Blake’s BAFTA nominated film ‘County Lines’.

For the same amount of time, I've also toured in over 30 countries as a professional drummer, including the USA, South Africa and most of Europe.

I'm mentioning all this only because I want you to know that the music you've worked so hard to create is in the hands of someone who knows what he's doing and cares passionately about every artist he works with and the music he produces.  

Working with musicians and artists in the studio requires a combination of musical and technical skills, empathy and experience in how to keep sessions moving.

I'm here to make you sound good. That's it.
